Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Region: Training session on International Humanitarian Law and Victim Protection
Regional Human Rights Commission of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region (CRDH), in partnership with the National Commission for International Humanitarian Law, will organize a training session on International Humanitarian Law and Victim Protection on Saturday 11 February 2023, at 2 pm, in Tangier, Morocco.
This training session is part of the National Human Rights Council’s (CNDH) actions related to raising awareness and strengthening capacities on the principles of international humanitarian law.
It is also the implementation of the requirements of Law 76-15, particularly Article 2, which states that the CNDH contributes to encouraging the implementation of international humanitarian law principles and rules.
This session will address the principles, rules and implementation mechanisms of this international humanitarian law.
National and international experts from the International Committee of the Red Cross will facilitate the program of this event.
Participants will address several axes focusing mainly on International humanitarian law and the protection of victims of armed conflicts, Challenges facing humanitarian action, and the Implementation of international humanitarian law in Morocco.
CNDH Regional Commission’s members, its administrative staff, and civil society associations will participate in this event.
International humanitarian law aims to implement a set of rules that seek to limit the effects of armed conflicts on people. It contributes, with international human rights law, to preserve the dignity and humanity of every person. Both laws share the aim of protecting all persons and are grounded in the principles of respect for the life, well-being and human dignity of the person.
