CNDH met with the High Authority for Good Governance of Central African Republic

The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) met on Wednesday 11 April 2018 at its headquarters in Rabat with a delegation led by Dr. Guy-Eugène Demba, President of the High Authority for Good Governance of Central African Republic. This delegation was composed of six people including Patricia Lucie Vidakoua, High Commissioner and IT engineer.

The light was shed on the contribution of the CNDH to reform the judiciary system and its opinion on several draft laws. The stakeholders also focused on the new founding law of the CNDH issued last February 2018, its three mechanisms and its interactions with the Ministry of State in charge of Human Rights and other national institutions such as the Mediator (Ombudsman), the Authority for Parity and the Fight against all Forms of Discrimination (APALD),...

The meeting was also an opportunity to share the CNDH’s experiences, its mandate and prerogatives as a constitutional institution since 2011. Moreover, participants highlighted the initiative of the CNDH in influencing the Moroccan’s migration policy in regularizing undocumented foreigners. They were also interested to learn about the achievements of Morocco on gender equality and the role of the APALD.

This meeting is part of the program of the delegation to visit national governance institutions within the framework of the cooperation between Morocco and the Central African Republic.
