Kawtar Boumehdi wins 1st Human Rights Youth Award

Ms Kawtar Boumehdi, student of Hassan II High School in Safi, won the Human Rights Youth Award 2013, awarded by the National Human Rights Council. Soumaya Serstou (Rhamna), Sakina El Aji (Safi), Samia Alaoui (Youssoufia) and Abdelkrim Ait Lhaj (Essaouira) won the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th awards, respectively.

Ms Kawtar Boumehdi, student of Hassan II High School in Safi, won the Human Rights Youth Award 2013, awarded by the National Human Rights Council. Soumaya Serstou (Rhamna), Sakina El Aji (Safi), Samia Alaoui (Youssoufia) and Abdelkrim Ait Lhaj (Essaouira) won the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th awards, respectively.

 

The award ceremony was held on the 14th of December 14, 2013 in Marrakech. This first award was supervised by CNDH's regional commission in Marrakech, in partnership with the training and education regional academies of Marrakech-Tansift-Al Houz and Doukalla-Abda.

Mr. Driss El Yazami, CNDH Chairman, Mr. Abdeladim El Guerrouj, Delegate Minister at the Ministry of Education and Training, and Mr. Ahmed Abbadi, Coordinator of CNDH Working Group for the promotion of human rights culture, and several directors and officials from the Ministry of Education and civil society stakeholders were present at this ceremony.

A book on the philosophical foundations of human rights by Mohamed Sabila, Abdesslam Ben Abd El Ali and Mustapha Laârissa was published specially for the award. The book encourages reflection on human rights and contributes to promoting human rights, mainly for young people.
