National Seminar on “Gender Approach in the Process of Transitional Justice in Morocco: Current Situation and Prospects” As part of the implementation of the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER) particularly as regards the promotion of women’s rights, and in partnership with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), the Advisory Council on Human Rights (CCDH) organizes a national seminar on November 25, 2008 in Rabat under the theme of "Gender Approach in the Process of Transitional Justice in Morocco: Current Situation and Prospects".

The seminar is an opportunity for different stakeholders involved in implementing the IER recommendations to think about and analyze the degree of taking into account the gender in the Moroccan experience and ways to improve that concern.

It worth mentioning that the CCDH in partnership with the UNIFEM, is currently developing a strategy for mainstreaming the gender approach in all the process of following up the IER recommendations, including community reparation programs. In this regard, a project on "promoting women’s rights and their role in the process of transitional justice in Morocco", was launched in April 2007 to test a pilot approach to mainstream gender in the process of Moroccan reconciliation.
