Mr. Ahmed Chaouki Benyoub

Born on July 20th, 1957 in Marrakech.

Mr. Benyoub, lawyer at the Rabat bar, got a BA in public law (Rabat, 1984).

Mr. Benyoub, a CCDH member during the mandate 2002-2006, presided the working group in charge of the protection of human rights. For the current mandate which goes up to 2011, he heads the working group in charge of the studies of legislation and public policies.

Furthermore, he was a former member of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER), Vice President of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH) and consultant to the National Observatory of the Rights of the Child (ONDE). He was in charge of overseeing sessions of the parliament of the child.

Given the fact that he is an expert in the mechanisms of protecting and promoting human rights, he was called to work in the field of training in the field and as adviser to regional and international organizations in the field.

Mr. Benyoub carried out many studies on the humanitarian legal questions, including a guide on “the justice of minors”, “legal guarantees of an equitable lawsuit”, “independent arbitration committee”, “provisions relating to the holding of communal and legislative elections”.

He published also some works in collaboration with other researchers such as, “the human rights and the democratic transition in Morocco” (collective, in Arabic language), “Morocco and forced disappearances”, “parliament of the child”.

Mr. Ahmed Chaouki Benyoub is married and father of a child.
