Mrs. Saadia Waddah, Chairperson of the CNDH’s Regional Commission of Casablanca-Settat

Mrs. Saadia Waddah, Chairperson of the CNDH’s Regional Commission of Casablanca-Settat, holds a bachelor’s degree in law. She is a lawyer in the Bar of Casablanca (Barreau de Casablanca). She was previously a member of the Council of the same Bar between 2000 and 2003.

Mrs. Waddah is a former member of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH) in 1992 and was also a member of the Comité de coordination du Tribunal des femmes arabes contre les violences envers les femmes (Coordinating Committee of Arabic women Court against violence towards women) in 1998.

In 2000, Ms. Waddah chaired the Association marocaine de lutte contre la violence à l’égard des femmes (Moroccan Association against Violence towards Women). Then, in 2003, she became a member of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights (OMDH).

Mrs. Waddah is a founding member of the Arab Women Lawyers Forum in Bahrain. She has contributed to several books, including a book “l’enfance violée” (rape childhood) for the Centre d’écoute et d’orientation juridique (Legal Aid and Counseling Center), “Le harcèlement sexuel” (sexual harassment) for the Association marocaine de défense des droits des femmes (Moroccan Association for the Defense of Women's Rights), “La violence à l’égard des femmes : quelle protection juridique ?” (Violence against women, legal protection), and a legal guide on personal status, “Marriage-divorce” for the Association démocratique des femmes du Maroc (Democratic Association for Moroccan women).
