REGIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION OF MARRAKECH CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
The Regional Human Rights Commission of Marrakech, in partnership with the Bar Association, organizes a day of celebration to mark the International Women's Day on March 08, 2013.The program of the celebration day features a series of activities, including two visits under the slogan “Caravan of roses” to Ibn Nafis psychiatric hospital in honor of its female staff, and to the local prison of Boulmharez in honor of women prisoners and female staff.
For the record, the National Human Rights Council, in the exercise of its powers relating to the visit of detention centers, has issued two thematic reports on the state of human rights in prisons and psychiatric hospitals. The first report is entitled “Prison crisis, a shared responsibility: 100 recommendations for the protection of prisoners’ rights”, and the second “Mental health and human rights: urgent need for a new policy”.
The program also includes a symbolic trial of violence against women in the Court of Appeal of Marrakech.
